The human nature of hope is unique. It looks for the future with hope for things to happen. In the animal kingdom there is no indication that there is a vision for something that is foreseen in the future rather than the immediate thing.
Despair argument is just the contrary of hope and the same thing is argued just the opposite.

Human nature has inner feeling of pride and worth something and not being humiliated.
